Welcome! I am a (former) midwife, (postpartum) doula and mother, originally from The Netherlands. With my Canadian partner and daughter I moved to Vancouver Island in 2024. In the Summer of 2025 I expect our second child. We are very happy to raise our children on the Island.

Because of my own maternity leave: I will take new clients from March 2026. Feel free to already reach out to me!

As a midwife in the Netherlands (2013-2023) I had a small solo practice with lots of time to get to know my clients. I was able to offer the care they needed / wanted instead of blindly following protocols and guidelines.

My midwifery career is on hold for now, but as a (postpartum) doula I want to support women and their families in a way that is essential in (new) motherhood: presence, care and nuanced information.

Next to that I’m the owner of a Dutch website vraagdevroedvrouw.nl, where I share nuanced (evidence-based) information to support pregnant women to make there own autonomous, informed decisions. I also teach midwives, doulas, obstetric nurses and doctors in the Netherlands (online) about informed decision making and in-depth midwifery subjects.
